The story: Not since we can remember has one wrestling company came out the gate with so much fire, and so many shows booked from the very inception. Show #3 The Boss Says, showed that this small Women’s Wrestling company was going to be a force to be reckoned with. Show # 1 the debut show Conception and Show #2 Corruption in Columbia showed that Women’s wrestling could draw a great crowd to see this dysfunctional show. Ironic as it may sound, the girls worked out its kinks during the live shows, as these girls didn’t have the chance (nor want to) practice during their off days.
The star power was quickly dwindling as the owners of the company were under the impression that the show would consistency draw with hot chicks, and the crazy show concept, then with booking high priced “star” power. Nicole Bass was quickly become a staple with the company, and an unstoppable force. Who would know that this would be Nicole’s last show with the company. She definitely went out with a bang, taking out pretty much the entire locker room and the ring crew before her exit from the company. There were talks years later to bring Nicole Bass back, after her bout with a serious sickness, but nothing ever came of it. Ryan Shamrock wasn’t booked because of price and airfare for this show, however the owners did like her, they just didn’t feel it was worth it after it was all said and done.
The girls were becoming more familiar with the ring and the show. The ring crew worked faster and were improving putting the ring up, however the ring ropes were consistently loose and had to be retightened as soon as someone hit the ropes. Everything was improving, including the lighting for this show and camera work of this show. We will go on record saying this is the best shot show overall out of the first three shows.
The controversy around The Dangerous Women of Wrestling, continued this time with several local independent companies wishing to put a stop to the show. Since the show was basically promoted as an oil wrestling show, the PA State Athletic commission had no jurisdiction and couldn’t shut the show down. This was also the first chance we had to meet with I.W.A. Terry Francovick, which as time went on grew into a great business relationship as Terry would later book The Dangerous Women of Wrestling in Reading, PA at the Riverside Beneficial Club.
Finally some quick facts was that this third show had the best turn out crowd wise. Security guru Mark Shaprio and his crew were on hand to keep the crowd under control. Again one low ticket price included admission into the event and beer, as we feel was a great marketing gimmick to get people to the shows. We have digitally enhanced and re-mastered the footage the best we can for your viewing.
Tonight’s backstage area was a curtained off small stage area. It was very dark, tight setting, and smelled of a dozen perfumes. Lots of smoke and strobes started the show.
On a sad note, this would be Amy’s last show as she past away, after being involved in a serious car accident back in her home area during the next week.
***Disclaimer: Like stated before “only if we knew what we were doing from the start”, that statement also includes all video taping of the live shows. As each show goes, the camera work and production does improve. This includes the actual shot, content, and lighting. We will do our best in lighten up the dark video, editing dead shots, and dressing the video up with graphics to make it more pleasing to the eye.
